Endgame
Dawn of Defiance Finished

The characters arrived at Despayre in their stealth vessel and managed to avoid the sensors on the nine Imperial Star Destroyers in System and took note of the giant space station. After some debate they decided to infiltrate the station rather than the planetary base and were soon grateful for their choice as the Death Star fired a full power blast destroying the planet below.

The characters snuck in through a garbage chute (deliberately this time) and made their way to a maintenance area with only a single tech. As Althea was hacking the system the team killed and subdued other techs coming into the area. They managed to gain the full plans of the Death Star and sabotaged the navacomputer hoping it would cause a fatal mis-jump.

After taking the plans to Bail Organa and warning him of the Death Star's destructive power the team returned to Darlyn Boda to lay low for the next year . . .

The game is on Hiatus with plans to return during the classic rebellion period after doing some other gaming.

The characters have gained a code to allow them into the heavily fortified planet where project sarlacc was based. The code should convince the necessary Imperials that they are smugglers bringing in spice and other contraband for the local black market.

While the data is analyzed to determine what exactly the character managed to recover they are advised to lay low taking a few month off to relax while hopefully staying under the radar so the bounty hunters don't catch up with them.

The characters also learn Admiral Varth betrayed the rebellion returning to the Empire with as much information as he could gather on their activities. This forced the rebels to abandon the base at Dantooine and has also further distanced the leadership in the rebellion causing the fleet to be disbanded until the full extent of the damage can be assessed.

When the character's wait is over they find the information leads into a heavily fortified secret Imperial project that can only be reached with special security clearance, a person with such clearance is on Alderaan, but due to suspicion Bail can't contact them directly.

Bail can arrange for the characters to get onto the luxury train Gem of Alderaan where the contact should be . . .

The characters settled in with fancy clothing to enjoy the luxury of the train while trying to arrange to meet the contact privately. Banner contacted a Twi'Lek who promised to arrange a meeting, but then the train was hijacked by terrorists. The characters overtook the train cars and made their way to the engine where the contact was being held. Banner and Stephan took over the terrorist transport while Althea, Jhauq, and Thomas broke into the engine. Thomas shot the leader who was holding the hostage while Althea and Jhauq each took two of the other terrorists.

The Terrorists had blasted the controls with the train going at full speed. Althea disconnected the cars while Stephan blasted the drives on the engine in an attempt to stop it. The engine slowed before hitting the station and the train cars were slowed.

The team was then able to secure the contacts help and get a code that would allow them to slip through the Sarlacc project defense screen.

From the Imperial Files the characters have learned Sarlacc Project is being run by COMPNOR somewhere on Coruscant, although Coruscant it quite large.

The team is started on Mantooine and went to Dantooine to contact the rebels as well as meet up with their supply vessels on Cantooine. They took a Vangaurd ship with members disguised as Boba Fett, 3PX, and a pair of Anzat assassins. They surveyed the tower looking for options to get in and finally settled into breaking in through the tubolift system. They came out in a detention block and attempted to rescue a duros, but he was killed in the ensuing firefight. They escaped with some data as the tower was destroyed and left still in disguise the crashed the ship setting up an accident in case Boba Fett or the others came looking for the imposters.

They spent time recuperating on Darlyn Boda and made arrangements to get a Grothis Skydiver with no transponder registry and have it stealthed at a pirate port (about a 1 million credit job, 500,000 to 3,000,000 depending on negotiations). The team took 500,000 from BD-34 which had 1,000,000 credits and is the last stash of real cash the team had access to (they have 11,100,000 in counterfeit but spending it could cause problems if the true nature was revealed).

The ground battle has been won but the team is now faced with the knowledge that the system has at least 2 remaining star destroyers and there was an active sector fleet somewhere nearby. The group has control of the ion minefield around the planet which would be effective against anything moving into orbital bombardment range, but could be slowly blasted apart by turbolasers at range or a determined tie fighter assault.

The team has the Liberator (a Corellian Corvette) and there are 11 bulk freighters, 2 medium transports, and 2 light freighters at the starport. The last they knew there was one Imperial Star Destroyer and one Victory Star Destroyer left in the system.

Currently the Rebel Base is at Dantooine along with the ships Salvager and Precursor while the fleet is in hiding. The group doesn't have communications range to reach either location by radio (although a specific individual might be reached by telepathy).

The Corvette successfully destroyed the Victory Star Destroyer, but the ISD left the system before being attacked. It took 4 days for the team to relocate 2/5 of the ion mines to the jump point. They made arrangements to acquire the crystal territory and set up local liaisons to run their business interests on the planet.

It was learned Project Sarlac is run from a COMPNOR facility on Coruscant but not the specific facility.

Mantooine Liberation Take-2;

While Mantooine suffered a devastating assault and blockade after their first attempt at throwing off Imperial subjugation it only made them more determined to be free of their oppressors. As a result the uprising happens fast with the promise of rebel support. The only potential problem for characters is that the support from the rebellion may not materialize as the Rebel Leadership becomes fearful that repeated bold attacks may draw a level of retaliation they can't handle . . .

For the heroes there is no time to worry about the politics as they are embroiled in the uprising on Mantooine with the team split into at least four separate engagements. Starting out the team in the stolen AT-AT encountered another AT-AT with 2 AT-ST and 40 stormtroopers who had a group of 30 liberators pinned down. They attacked the AT-AT but attracted the attention of three Tie fighters. They fought and scattered the stormtroopers and shot down the tie fighters and the AT-AT as well as one AT-ST limping away with heavy damage.

Thomas jumped from building top to building top using a sniper rifle to pick off officers before jumping to other locations.

Stephan also darted through the streets lending support with explosivs to pinned down Liberator units.

The crew in the AT-AT ran into another battle with 2 AT-AT and were shot out of theirs. Fleeing the Imperial forces they encountered a dozen Trandoshan bounty hunters who managed to catch Althea in an electronet, but were killed by Banner and Jauhq.

All three teams made their way towards the Landing field fighting Imperial forces along the way. Stephan made it to the starport first and stole a bulk cruiser using it to bowl over a couple AT-ATs before crashing it into the street then the group got together.

Returning to the starport Althea and Thomas took the Liberator while Stephan, Banner, and Jauhq stole an armed ghtroc 720 belonging to one of the bounty hunter groups. The Ghtroc shot and AT-AT, but was strafed by seven Tie fighters forcing the team to bail out in heavy Imperial occupation. The others has blasted the garrison to rubble then returned with the Liberator and forced the Imperials to disperse.

The group joined back up and made rounds helping the liberators on the ground mop up.

The session ended with the team considering how to approach the space battle to free the system from Imperial control.

Mantooine is heavily interdicted, perhaps more than any planet the characters have ever seen or heard of. The entire orbit is filled with ion mines 5 space units thick in addition to having a Victory Class Star Destroyer and several escort ships in the system. Characters will learn immediately ships not transmitting the proper codes are fired upon immediately upon entering the system. Evading the Imperial Blockade means moving rapidly through enemy fire and plowing through hundreds of active ion mines and then trying to land safely before atmospheric patrols move into the area.

Once on the surface the characters must evade Imperial detection, rally local support, and find a way to take over the ion mine field and drive the Imperial forces from the system while also hoping to discover more on Project Sarlacc.

Bringing in 3 ships is very unlikely to succeed, Spyro would suggest having Precursor and Salvager travel to the new Rebel Base being built at Dantooine and wait for the team there. They would be close enough to bring them to Mantooine for additional support should the group succeed.

The population of Mantooine has dwindled from 980,000 resident to 768,000 residents since the first uprising against the Empire. Assuming characters can secure Mantooine it would be available as a potential resource world and as many as 1% of the population would be willing to leave Mantooine to fight the Empire (likely over 7 thousand recruits depending on the severity of the local fighting).

The team elected to create a cover of being mining prospectors representing a corporation from Kurita Space. As part of the cover they brought along mining equipment, construction equipment, and lots of live koi. They changed the transponders on the Corvette and bribed BoSS for a new registry. At the intersection of the Braxant and Relgim runs the group was stopped by an Interdictor Class Cruiser with three Victory Class Star Destroyers who searched the ship.

At the Nam'ta Space Station the group was allowed to dock to an external airlock and then thoroughly searched again by a boarding party of 40 troops. Althea infiltrated the local garrison and hacked the computers to give the team transport orders to Mantooine.

The team made it to Mantooine and found it was defended by an Imperial Star Destroyer at the jump point and three Victory Star Destroyers in orbit as well as an ion mine field extended 5 space units from the atmosphere (past normal far orbit limits).

On Mantooine they were searched again by a customs agent who questioned their paperwork. They offered to landscape his residence and stock it with koi in exchange for him going easy on the paperwork and spent two days doing their bribed work while staying on the ship. While working they realized there were frequent stormtrooper patrols throughout the city and that they had a bounty worth 15,000 each for members of the team captured or killed.

After the bribed work was done part of the team started work on a "Corporate Retreat" south of the planetary garrison using the construction work to cover mining droids tunneling into the garrison foundation. Stephan spent his time scouting other mining prospects and contacting farmers in the outlying areas in search of resistance members.

Once they completed the tunnel they had a construction droid make an airlock for the tunnel, but as it was being completed the group was attacked by 5 chameleon droids. While they took serious damage the group survived the attack, but then spotted a Trandoshan pointing them out to a group of 10 stormtrooper scouts who took up observation positions as AT-ATs and AT-STs were dispatched from the garrison. The group fled in a resource recon speeder taking damage but managing to evade capture. They hid for a week among the resistance fighters assuming their ship and crewmembers were captured by the Empire.

After a week they snuck in during the night and recovered the airlock, swam up the tunnel and attached it. Vibrosaws were used to cut in while a sound bubble was used to dampen the sound and they fought nine techs before they could call in trouble. They hacked the computers, reprogrammed the ion minefield and reset the encryption to stop the Empire from accessing them and stealing all the available data on Sarlacc.

Stephan began sabotaging the base reactor and fuel reserves while Althea, Jauhq, and Banner went to rescue the prisoners from the detention ward. Stephan managed to hack the cells and open them while the other team battled the detention guards. Once the power was lost Stephan escaped through the sea tunnel while the other team battled through stormtroopers in the sealed passages and then fought in the hangar trying to steal an At-At to make their escape with.

The session left off with Banner, Althea, and Jauhq wounded and in an At-At getting ready to blast their way out of the garrison, Stephan escaping out the sea tunnel, and Thomas with the Liberators getting ready to battle the forces still in town (likely 7 At-At, an unknown number of At-St, and many stormtroopers).

The characters will begin on Almas; Spyro suggests sending a couple team members on the Salvager to assist the ugor. Since the group is taking extra time they could set up a few of the processing plants and facilities and distribute the salvage for manufacturing work (building things wanted immediately such as lightsabers and detonators would then be feasable). Before leaving Spyro will also handle the Awards Ceremony, so everyone has their medals in case they don't make it until the squadron rejoins the rebel fleet. Sixteen Squib volunteer to undergo cybernetic surgery before or during the journey. The Liberator can have 2 facilities active on it and the Salvager can have 3 active (I assume at least 1 weapon and 1 demolitions at this point).

As was mentioned in the last log Han and Lando have somehow gotten word of the characters (which should be troubling since ISB has more resources than them) and approached the group about assisting the smugglers collective in trying to break the Imperial Blockade of Nar Shadda. This puts them on a difficulty 20 jump, but is on the way towards Mon Calamar/Dak/Mon Cal and while Hutts have no loyalty to anyone it might be a chance to see their markets before having a price on their heads.

The characters traveled to Nar Shaddaa and Han Solo snuck them onto an ISD (the Assiduous) allowing them to plant explosives disabling it long enough to force it to retreat from the battle. While on the mission they learned Vader was aboard and killed an Inquisitor and stole a Lambda class shuttle which they then used to back up Solo, Calrissian, and Spince who were under heavy fire from 3 dozen tie fighters.

On Nar Shaddaa they acquired sith artifacts and deices to make more improvised explosives. While there two groups were jumped; the first by elite Defel assassins (Althea was mortally wounded and Banner forced to retreat) and the second by a gang of rather incompetent Nikto (Banner was present again and made quick work of them).  

The Mon Calamari revolution was also going to be getting under way, so the characters didn't wait too long before continuing on to meet the fleet. Mon Mothma was uncomfortable committing to the battle and while Spyro and Juno were anxious to use the fleet Banner initially agreed with Mothma. Stephan suggested using the Lambda to get into the hangar bay of an ISD and using Elegance bombs to disable it, which Banner agreed to. Banner, Althea, and Stephan took the shuttle on its suicide mission and succeeded in heavily damaging the Assiduous again and forcing it to retreat from the battle having lost all its ties and shuttles.   

Once the Mon Calamari homeworld was secured the characters were awarded medals for their actions (Spyro provided the medals, but Bail Organa gave out the awards at least for the players and key officers). They then purchased and filled three bacta tanks for the Liberator. Mon Mothma insisted that after the losses of the battle (still significant even with the heroic actions of the players) that the fleet go into hiding and Dac protect itself with minefields and planetary shields. The Mon Calamari and Quarren agreed and the nobles returned to the core.  

During the two week layover Spyro talked with Phoenix command about crew assignments and other arrangements. K'keyah group was chosen to not be part of the fleet allowing them to be relieved from the orders to go into hiding and continue their pursuit of Project Sarlacc. Enough information was gathered from the former Mantooine Slaves to find the Sarlacc Project likely resides in Atrivis sector. With Mantooine being Stephan's homeworld and it being under Imperial Quarentine it was decided the team wouls start the search there. A fifteen day jump through hyperspace will carry them towards Stephan's homeworld and the mission in the Atrivis Sector. . .

2 Years before the Battle of Yavin the team working for Bail Organa through Phoenix Squadron have acquired a fleet of ships and military equipment. Such a huge increase in combat assets instills a sense of urgency in the resistance movement and they make moves to meet on Corellia and make a formal declaration of rebellion.

The Newly dubbed Phoenix Fleet is then asked to proceed to Dak, stopping along the way to pick up refugees, especially those displaced from Bestine IV. Along the way the Vlakas Viaios will be asked to undertake a side-trek to prevent the Empire from recovering a Sith Holocron hidden in a ruined Jedi Temple on Almas (if the characters use a fast ship they will be able to cross the galaxy three times faster than the fleet since it is limited by the slowest ships).

Characters can spend up to 3 more days at Darlyn Boda if they feel the previous session didn't get them any specific items they want to look for (or arrange new insurance plans on their Darlyn Boda property). After that they will be off to Almas (j-18 to p-14) 18 days at x1 following the major trade routes (dif-10) using the booster they made it at x1 with no incidents.

Arriving at Almas they were boarded by pirates and forced their way onto the pirate ship tangling the pirates and then had them frozen in carbonite. Two pirate Z-95s were threatened into surrendering.

On the planet they encountered Squib and Ugor fighting over a droid, but after fighting off a group of dark-side lizards the Ugor and Squibs decided to join the characters who seemed much more powerful and capable.

The party went into the temple finding a secret passage down into the lower levels, but upon encountering some Defel used a powerful explosive causing the temple to collapse. A couple had to use force points to escape.

Clearing the rubble they discovered the remains of a couple dark jedi and the holocron although it was smashed beyond use. They elected to destroy the dark side temple on the planet as well and continue clearing the light side temple. An Imperial shuttle was shot down trying to escape and a K'Keyeh Dragon (200 meters long – 6D starfighter scale) broke through the remaining rubble and consumed 2 ugor and 1 squib before having an attack defelected by Althea and being brought down by a combination of laser, turbolaser, and missile fire after which it fell upon Stephan who survived the impact.

In the rubble they discovered Vhiin'Thorla still alive and trapped in a Universal Energy Cage (now installed on the Liberator). He was severely beaten, and more severely without hope having lost 2 padawans and questioning his ability to be a Jedi.    

A messenger droid was sent to tell the fleet they were delayed and would meet up with them later (at Mon Calamari/Dac/Mon Cal). As the characters finished the excavation and processing on Almas they are contacted by Han Solo and Land Calrisian who are looking for independents willing to help a conglomerate of Smugglers defens Nar Shadda from an Imperial blockade (16 days at x1 or 32 at x2).

Dawn of Defiance Part 5

Banner is signed up for the Sabacc Tournament and Stephan and Jauhq both signed up to be security at the casino. The tournament is 4 days long with 3 elimination days and a final event.

The buy in at the beginning of the tournament is 10,000 credits, but if a competitor is eliminated on any day but the last they may buy back in for another 10,000 credits. Each gambler can bring 10,000 credits to the table, but if all the participants at the table agree they may bring in additional credits to keep playing.

The team interrogate the Baron and learned he was actually a high ranking member of COMNOR's lead committee and was only ordered to observe the game and watch to ensure the exchange took place. During the tournament the group caught a number of cheaters and people sneaking weapons in and even revealed tampering with some of the droids. Banner managed to win the competition but 3 modified droids and 5 thugs attacked. All the thugs were subdued and the droids disabled before the characters made an escape having learned the blaster gas for slaves exchange was going on outside cloud city.

Stephan and Banner took on the Tie fighters managing to destroy them in a suicidal charge. Spyro and Althea turned back to pick up their escape pod while Thomas and Jauhq took control over the slave ship. Banner and Stephan were dropped on the Gallofree to take control of it and then all the ships fled the system meeting up with the Phoenix Squadron at Ison.

Banner, Jauhq, and Thomas returned to Darlyn Boda where they got friendly with Black Jack, tended their farms, and Banner helped with the slaves and scouted another hidden base (one with a difficulty 34 to detect from above and 3 million tons of industrial metals within the 2 kilometer radius of the 100 meter waterfall).

Stephan, Spyro, Althea, Sirona, and Lady Fioro (who joined after learning Darga was dead) went to the core impersonating an Iperial Envoy from Compnor. As agents they went to various manufacturers placing orders for a top secret project called "keffis" for a new Compforce fleet operating outside the Imperial Navy. At the end of the operation The Baron was killed and left with a false suicide note. There were also notes on a secret fleet, but no information for contacting them.
